Shire Summer Goes to Singapore

To get away from one of Toronto’s worst winters on record I travelled to Singapore this past March. While there I arranged a book signing At Woods in the Books No. 3 Yong Siak Street, Tiong Bahru. I include the address because it sounds so exotic!

The owner and her small son were keen listeners at my reading, as was my niece, a dear friend and her son.

Of course Bozz was also invited!

Later in the week I was invited to speak to Level 6 and 7 classes at Dulwich College. This venerable institution, which has campuses around the world, once counted Michael Ondaatje as a student!

Between class presentations these charming “reading ambassadors” took me on a guided tour of their splendid school.

A very enthusiastic Dulwich audience

And while I was off globetrotting, this website had drawn in a speaking engagement for me at the Highland Creek Lions Club. Their annual awards dinner was well attended and the crowd warmly receptive to my reading and commentary on Shire Summer.

Thank-you to you, Noelle. The reviews are in and you did great. Looking forward to reading and sharing the book. Stay well, Jerry

And now it’s back to putting the finishing touches on Being Pete, my next youth novel, before sending it out to publishers. Look here for an excerpt from this book very soon.
